Cross-Cultural Weddings
Posted on October 24th, 2008 by Kori Ellis in Wedding FavorsMy husband and I went to a wedding last weekend. It was a cross-cultural wedding – Chinese and American. First a traditional Chinese ceremony, complete with Chinese wedding attire, was performed. This was interesting even though I couldn’t understand any of it. After the Chinese wedding ceremony was complete, then the couple quickly changed clothes while the guests were treated to some Chinese music, followed by “Here Comes the Bride” as the bride came down the church aisle once again. Planning a Winter Wedding
Posted on September 28th, 2008 by Kori Ellis in Wedding FavorsMany couples are getting married outdoors, even in the wintertime. If you are planning an outdoor winter wedding, be sure to have plenty of torch heaters and a tented area to keep your guests comfortable and warm. Winter weddings are great fun because you can serve comfort foods at the reception, such as soups and casseroles. For beverages, cocoa, coffee, hot apple cider or a hot toddy are all appropriate choices.
If you are planning a winter 2009 wedding, your date is approaching fast. If you haven’t bought your wedding favors yet, don’t fret. There’s still time to order unique wedding favors that incorporate a frosty winter theme.
Whether you are getting married indoors or outdoors this winter, decorate with snowflakes, icicles and other wintery touches. For winter wedding favors, Truly offers a variety of choices from snowflake keychains to snow gel candles.
One of my favorite ideas for winter weddings is the personalized coffee kit. Each favor includes a bag of premium ground coffee and heart-shaped spoon. Pesonalized wedding favors add a nice touch to your reception.

Don’t Be Cheap and Tacky About Wedding Favors
Posted on September 27th, 2008 by Kori Ellis in Wedding FavorsA friend of mine told me about a very formal wedding that she atteneded recently where the couple gave store-bought cookies as wedding favors … and just two cookies to each guest. I’m not talking about any elaborate, expensive, beautiful cookies, but rather just generic cookies that cost a few cents each.
When you can afford to invite 300 people to your wedding, you shouldn’t skimp on wedding favors. Don’t get me wrong, you don’t have to spend a fortune. You can actually get cheap wedding favors that aren’t cheap-looking or tacky.
Here are Truly we offer a variety of unique wedding favors in almost every price range. If you want to go the “cheap” route, check out the Favors By Price section where you can find a variety of wonderful favors for under a couple dollars each.
For example, these glass coaster wedding favors pictured here are a fantastic option. They are elegant, practical and celebrate your love with the word “LOVE” spelled out. Each favor consists of a set of four frosted glass coasters.
If you want to package candies or cookies as wedding favors, that’s fine too. Just make them homemade, personalized or a little original. You can put them in special wedding favor boxes and add personalized tags as an extra touch.
Wine Wedding Favors
Posted on September 26th, 2008 by Kori Ellis in Wedding FavorsThe wine and champagne are a big part of your wedding reception. If you have decided to serve wine, offer two choices – red and white if you are serving a wide array of foods.
If your wedding is in the daytime with light fare, stick with a white wine, a zinfandel or even spritzers instead. If you are serving pastas and beef, then obviously reds are a better choice. Get more tips on choosing wine for your wedding.
You can also incorporate the wine theme into your wedding decorations and favors. Truly Wedding Favors offers a wide variety of wine wedding favors that include everything from bottle stoppers and wine charms to wine glass candles and personalized champagne flutes.
The Petite Merlot wine gel candle favor pictured here is a fantastic choice. Each favor consists of a single wine shaped candle holder that contains a wine colored gel candle. When lit, the beautiful candle lets off a harvest grape scent. Your guests will really adore these unique wedding favors!
Photo Coasters & Wine Bottle Stopper
Posted on September 24th, 2008 by Kori Ellis in Wedding FavorsIf you are having a smaller wedding, you might want to spend a little extra on your wedding favors.
Though there are plenty of favors that cost a dollar or two, by spending a few dollars more you can really widen your choices.
One of my favorite favors is this set of photo coasters and a wine bottle stopper. Two photo coaster wedding favors and one wine bottle stopper are included in a wire stand. One coaster sits on each side with the shiny chrome spiral bottle stopper placed in the middle.
These unique wedding favors come packaged in a white gift box. They are definitely a special favor that your guests will treasure for years to come.
Check out the other bottle stopper wedding favors and coaster favors available at Truly Wedding Favors. It’s always great when you can find something that is beautiful, practical and still quite affordable.
