Chrome Love Luggage Tag

Posted on July 22nd, 2008 by Kori Ellis in Wedding Favors

Chrome Love Luggage TagOne of the newer favors here at Truly is this chrome luggage tag. I think it’s a great idea, particularly for a destination wedding.

Everyone can use a luggage tag, it’s practical and beautiful. The chrome border of the tag is accented with little hearts. The tag also has a vinyl strap, which adds a stylish touch. You could use these tags as place card holders, by slipping in a card with the name of each guest.

Chrome favors are very elegant. They are perfect for a traditional wedding and can be added to any type of reception, no matter your wedding colors.

Favors Perfect for a Tropical Beach Wedding

Posted on July 1st, 2008 by Kori Ellis in Wedding Favors

My friend Samantha is getting married in Hawaii at the end of the year. She was asking me about wedding favors. So we were looking at all the beach and tropical favors that would be perfect for her wedding.

Silver Pineapple Placecard HoldersThough her wedding is at the beach, it’s not that casual. Therefore, I thought she should go for something chrome or crystal – still with a beachy theme.

I think she has settled on these silver pineapple placecard holders pictured here. They are made of shiny chrome and quite elegant, but also fun with the pineapple theme!

After guests take these place card favors home, they can use them to hold photos or memos on their desk. Functional, fun and elegant – just what Samantha is looking for!

These mini photo albums make great wedding favors. The albums come in either burgundy or black and are made with luxurious satin.

Inside is space for 20 photos – two on each page, so your guests can fill up the album with memories when they get home. Each photo album is approximately 3.8 inches square.

You would think a wedding favor like this one might be expensive, but it’s not at all. The mini satin photo albums are priced around $2 each (depending on how many you order).

Ellen DeGeneres Plans Wedding in Palm Springs

Posted on June 26th, 2008 by Kori Ellis in Celebrity Weddings

Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and her girlfriend Portia de Rossi are planning their wedding in Palm Springs later this year. Since California lifted the ban on same sex weddings last month, the couple has begun planning their wedding and reception.

According to the New York Post the wedding will take place at the Riviera Resort and Spa.

An anonymous source told the paper, “They didn’t sign the contract yet, but they are working out the final details and security.”

Palm Springs is a hot (literally) spot for weddings in recent years. It’s a great place to relax for sun and fun, so it’s no wonder that couples are choosing the city as their wedding destination.

If you were a celebrity couple, what type of wedding favors would you give your guests? I often hear of celebs handing out jewelry and other high priced items to their friends and family who attend their weddings.

Since we all can’t afford such lavish choices, we have to be a little more reasonable. But just because you don’t have a celebrity budget doesn’t mean your wedding favors have to be cheap and tacky.

Here at Truly Wedding favors, you can find a variety of high-quality, unique wedding favors. Whether you planning a wedding at the beach, in the desert, or anywhere in between, you will find what you are need!

Watch the video of “The Ellen Show” where Ellen announces that she and Portia are getting married.

Tin Favor Pails

Posted on June 20th, 2008 by Kori Ellis in Wedding Favors

These colorful pails are a terrific way to package candies, nuts and other treats for wedding favors. These pails are ideal for a beach wedding, but would actually work for other wedding receptions as well.

Tin Favor PailsWhen filling the pails, you don’t need to stick to the traditional Jordan almonds or Hershey’s Kisses. You can feature lemon drops, candy hearts, red hots, gum drops, mini candy bars or any number of other treats. You can also make homemade candy or mini cookies, wrap them in tulle and package them in the little tin pails.

The colors are fresh and crisp, including white, silver, pink, lavender, light blue and sage green.

When your guests take the pails home, they can use them to hold paper clips, stick pins or other little trinkets on their desks. Check out these pails and other unique wedding favor ideas here at Truly Wedding Favors.

Planning a Las Vegas Wedding

Posted on June 19th, 2008 by Kori Ellis in Wedding Favors

Of course, many people get married in Las Vegas on a whim. However, many others couples plan their Vegas wedding well in advance, just like any other destination wedding.

If you are planning a wedding in Vegas, follow these simple wedding tips.

Martini glass gel candleBe sure to book early. The dates around the holidays book very fast in Las Vegas. Not only will you need to book your reception and ceremony site, but all the hotel rooms and other vendors. Conventions book in Vegas sometimes years in advance, so plan well ahead to get the best choice of vendors and locations possible.

Consider an outdoor wedding, but not in the dead of summer. Vegas is HOT! However, many of their hotels and other venues offer beautiful outdoor wedding facilities. If you plan on a garden or poolside wedding, be sure to keep the weather in mind.

It doesn’t have to be tacky. Just because you are getting married in Vegas, it doesn’t have to be all about glitz and Elvis impersonators. You can plan an elegant traditional wedding at one of the gorgeous hotels or other wedding facilities available in Las Vegas.

At Truly Wedding Favors, we offer a variety of wedding favors that are suitable for a Las Vegas theme.

If you are going with a red and black casino motif, check out the Las Vegas coaster set. For a whimsical choice, the martini glass gel candles are a nice option. And for something a little more traditional, choose from any number of unique wedding favors.

Piano Place Card Holders

Posted on June 7th, 2008 by Kori Ellis in Wedding Favors

Piano Place Card HoldersLast year, I went to a friend’s wedding reception at a piano bar. It was a small affair of about 50 people, but it was a really fun atmosphere. The pianist was awesome – he sang everything from showtunes to the latest pop hits. Even if you aren’t having your party at a piano bar, a pianist is a nice idea. It can be the perfect complement to a classy, black and white wedding or even a wedding with a Las Vegas theme.

If you are having pianist at your reception or just a big music fan, these Piano Place Card Holders are a nice choice.

These cute cookie pictured here are from Elenis. They offer specialty cookies in various shapes and designs that depict holidays, hobbies and just about everything else – including weddings!

Wedding CookiesThe set pictured here is $65 for 17 cookies. You can also order individual designs, ranging from square monogram cookies to colorful cake cookies. You could use them as wedding favors, bridal shower favors or hand them out the morning after your wedding at brunch.

If you are feeling creative, you could probably bake similar cookies yourself and then package them as wedding favors. Though they wouldn’t be as perfect as the ones from Elenis, they’d be a little more affordable.

After baking and frosting your cookies, wrap them in cellophane and then package them in one of the wedding favor boxes available at Truly Wedding Favors.

My favorite is the Pink Plaid Purse favor box – it’s perfect for a bridal shower. For an Asian themed wedding, you should consider the “Double Happiness” favor boxes. These red and gold boxes are ideal for an Asian theme wedding.
