Packaging Your Candy Wedding Favors

Posted on May 26th, 2008 by Kori Ellis in Wedding Favors

Candy favors are probably the easiest and most affordable option. But just because they are cheap doesn’t mean they have to be tacky. With some elegant packaging, candy favors can be a very nice addition to your wedding reception and a token of appreciation that your wedding guests will love. After all, everybody loves candy!

Calla Lily Mini-PailsWhen selecting candy, you don’t have to stick to the standards of Jordan almonds, Hershey’s Kisses and mints. Instead, you can select conversational hearts, lemon drops, red hots, mini chocolate bars and just about any other type of little candy you prefer.

At Truly Wedding Favors, we offer a variety of different wedding favor boxes, bags and tins that are perfect for packaging candies and other small items. Here are a few of my personal favorites.

Beach Bag Candy Holder
This cute drawstring bag is perfect for a beach wedding, whether you are having your wedding locally or at an exotic locale. It features blue ships, palm trees, starfish and other items on the clear bag. Very cute!!

White Frosted Heart Box
If you want something very elegant, but extremely inexpensive, get these heart shaped boxes. At as little as $0.15 each, how can you beat this deal?!

Calla Lily Mini-Pails
This little pails feature a fabric calla lily on the front. Each metal pail can be filled with candy, nuts, mints or other treats. These mini-pails are just adordable.

Conversation Hearts Favors

Conversation Hearts - David's BridalEverybody loves those little conversation hearts you can get around Valentine’s Day. They come in a variety of pastel colors, each bearing a cute saying.

In recent years, these hearts have become a popular candy wedding favor as well, and you can purchase them at a variety of online stores.

One place that has these hearts is David’s Bridal. I know – it’s a little weird to buy candy hearts from a retailer best known for beautiful wedding gowns. But I was at a wedding recently and the couple had purchased their conversation hearts from DavidsBridal.com. You can get a bag of about 125 hearts for $8.00.

Once you buy the hearts, you have to package them to create your wedding favors. Here at Truly Wedding Favors, you can find a variety of cute little wedding favor tins and bags that are perfect for this.

My favorites are the Wedding Dress Tins and Tuxedo Tins. At just $.74 each, you can’t beat the price!
