If you are planning a wedding in Vegas, follow these simple wedding tips.

Martini glass gel candleBe sure to book early. The dates around the holidays book very fast in Las Vegas. Not only will you need to book your reception and ceremony site, but all the hotel rooms and other vendors. Conventions book in Vegas sometimes years in advance, so plan well ahead to get the best choice of vendors and locations possible.

Consider an outdoor wedding, but not in the dead of summer. Vegas is HOT! However, many of their hotels and other venues offer beautiful outdoor wedding facilities. If you plan on a garden or poolside wedding, be sure to keep the weather in mind.

It doesn’t have to be tacky. Just because you are getting married in Vegas, it doesn’t have to be all about glitz and Elvis impersonators. You can plan an elegant traditional wedding at one of the gorgeous hotels or other wedding facilities available in Las Vegas.

Tropical Paradise Wedding

Posted on November 27th, 2007 by Kori Ellis in Wedding Favors

Palm Tree Place Card HolderEven if you aren’t getting married in a Hawaii or another tropical paradise, you can still have a very tropical wedding.

Here are some quick ideas on how to achieve a tropical theme at your wedding reception:

  • Decorate with lots of greenery and tropical flowers.
  • Serve the type of food you’d find at a luau, such as roasted pig, mahi mahi or chicken and rice.
  • Choose a pineapple upside down cake or coconut cake.
  • Give a Hawaiian lei to each of your wedding guests as they enter the reception.
  • Select a signature cocktail such as a Mai Tai, Pina Colada or Blue Hawaiian.

And of course, you should have tropical themed wedding favors. The perfect favor is this Palm Tree Place Card Holder.

This pewter tree is elegant and functional. It will hold the place cards at your reception and then can be used by guests to hold a photo or memos when they take it home. At as little as $2.70 each, these place card holder will be perfect to complement your tropical theme.

No Wedding Favors?

Posted on November 24th, 2007 by Kori Ellis in Wedding Favors

Tuxedo TinsI was talking to a friend of mine last week who is getting married in March. She said that she’s not having any wedding favors for her wedding because she is over budget.

I told her (maybe not so nicely) that having no wedding favors is tacky. She thinks it’s better to be a little tacky and give nothing at all, than to be really tacky and give cheap favors.

What do you think?

I believe that wedding guests appreciate the thought of wedding favors, even if they are small. And besides that, you can make your own wedding favors or buy very inexpensive favors.

Here at Truly Wedding Favors, you can get wedding favors under $1. Even if you have 300 guests (and you shouldn’t be having a wedding with 300 guests, if you can’t afford favors) then it would only cost $300 to purchase cute favors for all your guests.

No wedding favors at all? I certainly hope she changes her mind.

Interesting & Practical Wedding Favors

Posted on November 21st, 2007 by Kori Ellis in Wedding Favors

If you don’t want to give a basic wedding favor, such as an edible favor, place card holder or candle favor, look for interesting options that are also practical.

Here are a few of my favorite favors at Truly Wedding Favors that are both useful and unique.

Stainless Steel Coffee Scoop
Many people drink coffee almost every day. For a practical wedding favor, this heart-shaped coffee scoop is perfect. These cute favors are priced as low as $2.09 with the volume pricing discount.

I Do Hors D’oeuvre Picks
These picks are just adorable. Each of the four picks features a classic wedding symbol – a heart, a cake, a pair of rings, and wedding bells. They are packaged beautifully and wrapped with a white box. Priced at as low as $1.59 each, they are also very affordable.

Fish Bottle Opener
These whimsical wedding favors are perfect for a beach wedding, or for any couple looking for a colorful fun favor. What’s cool about these bottle openers is they are also equipped with a large magnet. This way, your guests can stick them on their refrigerator, where they can hold memos and always be handy. At $1.69 each, you can’t beat the price.
